Services Provided
- Community Integration – Community integration ensures that people with disabilities have the supports and services they need to remain living in a community setting.
- Personal Care Attendant Services – Personal care attendant services help a person with a disability manage daily living tasks such as preparing meals, getting out of bed, managing mail, and filing important documents.
- Environmental Modifications – Environmental modifications are physical changes to homes, vehicles, and in some cases workplaces, which help people with disabilities live in the community instead of in an institution.
- Peer Counseling/Support – Peer counseling/support involves a person or a group of people with disabilities sharing experiences which can ultimately empower the individual to live as independently as possible.
- Skills Training – Skills training involves assisting the individual to develop necessary daily living skills essential when an individual travels that bold path to achieving independence. The management of finances, meal preparation, and proper attendant care training are skills which are emphasized.
- Transition Services – DON Services assists people with disabilities to find accessible housing, transportation, personal assistance services and other community resources necessary for inclusion into society.
- Durable Medical Equipment – DON Services can help provide durable medical equipment, equipment that is used primarily for medical purposes at home, is necessary for people with disabilities, and is designed to withstand prolonged use.
